Official competition guide
EU Cup rules
Food is not allowed in any discipline. Read the discipline rules carefully before the event.
01Trackmill
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best score.
- Two trackmills are ready at a fixed height. Nothing may be changed.
- The poles are 40 meters apart. The dog must clearly touch or cross the marked line on both sides for each run to count.
- Time may only stop for a technical defect. Fallen poles or a broken rope do not stop the clock.
02Hangtime
- You may help the dog get a good bite before the handler says ready or time. The clock starts immediately after that.
- After the start, do not touch the dummy, spring or rope. One hand may steady the dog briefly, but the dog cannot be held or climb the handler.
- A leash must remain loose. Maximum time is 20 minutes. Only one chance is allowed.
03Highjump
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best height. The dummy or toy must be held for at least 2 seconds.
- Height can go up or down in 2.5 cm steps. The handler may hold the toy, but the dog may not touch the handler during the jump or hold.
- A toy may be steadied carefully with two fingers or a pole when weather conditions require it.
04Sprint
- The dog starts inside the indicated area and may only start when the starter says so. Early release adds a 2 second penalty.
- The dog is timed at 50, 100 and 350 meters in a single round. There is one chance unless a technical defect requires a restart.
- The handler may run with the dog. Time stops if the dog leaves the bounds or returns.
05Slatmill
- The dog completes 1 km as fast as possible and must finish within 7 minutes to score.
- The dog may stop, rest and restart, but the clock continues.
- Toys are allowed. Food and muzzles are not allowed.
06A-Frame
- The dog completes three timed 1 minute runs, with exactly 1 minute rest between each run.
- A turn counts when the paws touch the ground on the other side. The handler may not assist the dog over the frame.
- Only one competing handler is allowed inside the fenced area during the timed run. Additional people may only release or catch outside the timed work.
07Long jump
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best distance. Poles must stay in place for the jump to count.
- Distance may go up or down. The longest clear jump is the final score.
08Hedge jump
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best height. Poles must stay in place for the jump to count.
- Height may go up or down. The highest clear jump is the final score.
09Wallclimb
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best height. Handlers may not assist the dog in gaining height or touch the dog during the 2 second bite.
- A slack fall-assist rope may be attached to a harness. Someone must always be ready to catch the dog.
- Any solid dummy toy without Velcro can be used.
10Wooden wall
- Dogs have 7 minutes to get the best height. Both whole front legs must be over the wall past the elbows for a score to count.
- The dog may not touch the toy until both front legs are correctly over the top. Handlers, catchers and releasers may not assist during the climb.
- Dogs cannot wear a muzzle. At least two people are needed for each dog so the dog can be caught safely.
